„Where intelligence and grace define the art of herding“

OUR BREEDING AMBITIONS

We want to raise confident, social and mentally strong puppies with good off switch, will to please and passion for work.

Our goal at Sardony of Rose kennel is to breed exceptional Border Collies that excel in various physical activities, showcasing their remarkable endurance and versatility. Whether it's herding sheep or engaging in any other sporting endeavor, We aim to produce dogs that consistently deliver outstanding performances.

In addition to their physical prowess, our dogs are carefully bred to possess invaluable traits such as a reliable off switch, self-control, and confidence. It is of utmost importance to us that our dogs can confront and overcome their fears swiftly, ensuring they remain composed and maintain a strong connection with us, even in challenging situations. A mentally stable dog is the cornerstone of a fulfilling companionship and their ability to navigate all aspects of life.

While we cannot guarantee that all puppies born under our care will possess these exact qualities, it's important to recognize that each dog, like humans, possesses unique characteristics. Consequently, we carefully assess and match each puppy to its new home based on temperament and suitability, ensuring a harmonious bond between the dog and its new owner.

Health and Colors

We always prioritize the well-being of our dogs, placing a strong emphasis on their health. Therefore, we ensure thorough examinations, including X-rays for HD, ED, OCD, Spondylosis, Lumbosacral transitional vertebrae, Patellar luxation, as well as testing for various hereditary diseases using MyDogDNA and official Laboklin tests.

When it comes to assigning our puppies to new owners, we do not base the decision on color. We fully understand that everyone has their own color preferences, and it would indeed be boring if everyone solely desired black and white dogs. However, in our kennel, choosing a puppy solely based on color is not an option. Instead, we match puppies to new homes based on their temperament, which we evaluate when they reach the age of 6-7 weeks.

Let´s not forget that Blue, Brindle, Lilac, or any other color variation is just as part of the breed as black and white. We neither prioritize nor disregard specific colors in our breeding program. Our primary goal is to breed healthy individuals with exceptional temperaments, and that remains our utmost focus.

Breeding for color is just as bad as breeding against color. In either case, you miss the point of the breed.

IDEAL OWNERS OF OUR PUPPIES

When it comes to finding suitable owners for my puppies, my main criteria revolve around individuals who view their dogs as cherished family members rather than mere medal machines or inactive companions. My belief is rooted in the understanding that dogs hold a significant role as our faithful companions and cherished best friends.

I seek individuals who are committed to providing the best care for their puppy and actively engaging in sports or activities together. Border Collies were originally bred as highly skilled working dogs, which is why I prioritize finding owners for my puppies who are willing to engage them in meaningful activities. Whether it be participating in Agility, Herding, or Dog Frisbee, these activities provide an outlet for the breed's innate drive and intelligence. By embracing these activities, owners can provide their Border Collies with the mental and physical stimulation they crave, ensuring a fulfilling and enriching life for both the dog and their human companions. Behavioral problems often emerge in Border Collies when they experience boredom. This breed requires mental and physical stimulation to thrive. When their needs for mental and physical activity are not adequately met, they may develop unwanted behaviors as a result of frustration or pent-up energy.

Thats why ideal owners need to understand that ignoring problems will only lead to their escalation, and that they need to proactively address any challenges that arise. It is disheartening to witness Border Collies, or any dogs for that matter, trapped in a cycle of unwanted or problematic behaviors due to their owners' neglect. Failure to address and correct such behaviors can lead to a decline in the dog's well-being and overall quality of life. Recognizing this reality, it is crucial for owners to proactively tackle any behavioral issues that arise, seeking appropriate guidance and professional assistance when necessary. By taking responsibility and actively working to understand and address their dogs' needs, owners can break free from the loop of unwanted behaviors and create a positive and harmonious relationship with their pets.

The ideal owner for my puppies is someone who possesses clear goals and a steadfast determination to work towards them. Raising a puppy is not always a smooth journey; it requires perseverance, skill, and knowledge. Recognizing the importance of seeking professional guidance when needed, I value owners who are not hesitant or ego-driven when it comes to asking for help.

In my role as a breeder, I place great importance on maintaining constant communication with those who buy a puppy from me. I request that we remain in regular contact, even if it's just occasionally, through the sharing of photos, training videos, and celebrating their achievements. Buying one of my puppies establishes a lasting bond, and you can rest assured that I will not simply disappear after handing over the pup.
